Dear God

In Dear God (the sequel to Letters To God), author Norhafsah Hamid weaves a tender story of young love, second chances and a soul that is lost, seeking to find what has been missing in his heart all along.

Jonah thought he had everything a guy could ever needed to sail through life. A family that is supportive, cool friends that made university life a breeze and looks that won him the affection of many girls.

Except for one - Sarah.

An encounter with Sarah made Jonah realise that there is more than the one revolving around him. Jonah decides to brave the path least taken in the search for the meaning of eternal contentment. He found himself connecting to the One that he has long forgotten since he was little.

Is there still hope for him?

'Dear God, grant me strength., prayed Jonah silently.

I fall in love with Letters to God, hence all the sequels after that is not to be missed! (: I love how I can know and understand each of the characters through Rough Diamonds, Heaven Sent and this book, Dear God. However, the story line is a bit redundant in those 4 books so I have to skip some of the scenarios to avoid me getting bored. But all in all, Alhamdulillah I have read one of the books that has inspired me to be better day by day!

Dear God; A review

I like the story of how Jonah tries to control his feelings towards Sarah and tries hard to make it valid and honourable.

What i think is a bit lacking here is that, The title and the story seemed a bit lose, meaning that the connection was weak. The story was more like “Dear Sarah” — for the title since Jonah wrote a lot of unsent emails to Sarah. The story didn’t tell much about the connection Jonah had with God. It would also be lovely if there’s a story of what really knocked Jonah’s heart to turn his path to Islam other than just being curious of Sarah’s strong will in her religion.

Lastly, it feels like the story was made in a short period of time— rushed, because there’s a quite significant number of typos in the book.

Overall, the author still made a wonderful soothing story that may benefit a lot of young souls. InsyaaAllah
